AN EMBROIDERED SILK SIX-PANEL HANGING SCROLL SET
19th century
Comprised of six hanging scrolls, embroidered in satin stitch with silk
floss on a pale-yellow damask silk ground, accented with seed stitch
and couched gilt-wrapped threads, depicting a scene of descendants
paying respects to their elders, the near symmetrical composition a
festive atmosphere laden with auspicious imagery, with a leather box.
