Red overlay two-character Shui Yi mark to the base, possibly a studio Mary and George Bloch Collection, Vol. 5, Part 2, Hong Kong, 2002,
name, 1760-1860 pp. 448-449, no. 881, where the authors note that the subject was a
depicting two two-horned five-clawed scaly dragons contesting a popular Imperial subject employed well into the nineteenth century by
flaming pearl in a writhing scene above breaking waves that surround Imperial glass carvers. Use of this motif as the main subject on snuff
the rounded oval foot ring, which has a convex base with a very rare bottles suggests an Imperial connection, and when combined with
carved red-overlay mark, the tall cyndrical neck with medium mouth a standard Imperial color, as in this case, the Imperial glassworks is
opening with concave rim certainly a likely provenance.
