The Hosokawa family were the domain lords of Kumamoto in Kyushu. ⡿႓།ᚉᛓᚚទᾢទ⥂㏟ᚉ卿ᙻ ӽ⡕卿⡿႓ক᭄ἃ㑷ߧཉ᭄㋳
In the 14th century, Hosokawa Kazuuji (1296-1342) and Hosokawa ✥卿⡿႓㐘Ԡߺ㖓ჺᄁ⎏✄Ӳջ㑷ߧ⨒ᶕཆ㕘ࢶᇂ࢈Ꮗ卿ᅤ⛁⢴
Yoriyuki (1329-1392) assisted Ashikaga Takauji (1305-1358) and Ashikaga Ӭᚚទ⎏ༀ⊘რᄙǯ⡿႓།⣌ࢦᄃջ⎏㖜Ὥ卿ᚺᯎഌ᫈ᛞឆ✄
Yoshimitsu (1358-1408) to establish the Muromachi shogunate period. In ջ⡿႓㍙⛁卿㫀भ⡿႓།ᚉ୨⎋അჺࢦᄃջ՞⎏ऒ⧻ワᘘ⻦卿
1950, Hosokawa Moritatsu (1883-1970) of the 16th generation, catalogued ᙻ ჺࠛ⛁᭦㬪ᙔᄣ卿۔⯍✄ ջ⡿႓㍙㏌卿ᘟ⊤㘧㪰ᇌᓞᝫ❖
his family’s art collection and set up the Eisei-Bunko Museum. The
↚ᙔᄣ卿ཇ㧙Ⓔᔺ⻦ԋஇᝧ⊺卿㎒༛Ի⡿႓།ᚉ⎏⻱ワᘘ⻦ǯ
Collection was later transferred to Hosokawa Morisada (1912-2005). After
retiring from political life, Morisada focused on acquiring and studying
Asian art including Chinese paintings and calligraphy, and thereby
enriching the Hosokawa Collection.
