           Edo period (1615-1868), early 19th century
           Decorated on the exterior with cockerels, a hen and chicks by
           chrysanthemums and rocks in gold, silver, red and black takamaki-e
           and hiramaki-e with highlights of kirikane and kinji against a rich
           nashiji ground, the interior of the lid with a cockerel and hen beneath
           bush clover and grasses in the same lacquer techniques against a
           sparse hirame ground, the rims and riser fundame, signed on the
           interior of the lid Kansai and with a kao
           With a wood storage box
