pith paper, framed and glazed. with a gilt wood frame, each painting depicting a ship in distress with
7 3/4 x 11 3/4in (19.7 x 29.8cm) sight, each painting bolts of lightning overhead, one bearing an inscription on the stretcher
$1,800 - 2,500 reading jiaxu wen, the other inscribed yihai wen, perhaps indicating the
years 1814 and 1815, or 1874 and 1875.
