A SMALL WHITE JADE ‘ELEPHANT’
RHYTON
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The lower section of the rhyton is cleverly carved in the form of
an elephant head, with its tusks and trunk acting as supports. The
upper section is carved with a band of archaistic ‘C'-scrolls, beside
a handle in the form of a stylised dragon. The stone is of an even
white tone.

A WHITE JADE ‘LOTUS’
STAND
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The stand is carved in the form of a circular lotus
flower, the petals curling over the rim, with a lotus
pod to the centre, all supported on a tall flared foot
carved and pierced with a band of stylised lappets.
The stone is of an exceptionally pale even tone.
