A CINNABAR LACQUER HARDSTONE AND
IVORY-INLAID SIX-LEAF SCREEN
Early 20th century
Each leaf framed by dragon and peony scroll
borders, the lower rectangular section with precious
objects and the bajixiang, Eight Buddhist Emblems,
the main upper sections with leiwen ground inset
with various materials including jade, ivory, cloisonné
enamel, agate and other hardstones, flanked by
two sections with mother of pearl inlaid with an
auspicious inscription, the reverse decorated in gilt
on black lacquer with landscape scenes.
Each leaf 193cm (76in) high x 45.5cm (17 7/8in)
wide (6).
