a russet foliate motif to the shoulder; the six
tea bowls decorated in deep brown glazes
with russet detailing.

Song/ Yuan Dynasty
Comprising: a brown glazed white-rimmed
bowl, the glaze stopping short of the foot
to reveal the pale creamy body; a russet-
splashed mottled brown glazed bowl; a
brown glazed bottle vase with slender flaring
neck; and a Cizhou type ovoid jar, with
four applied handles to the shoulder, freely
painted with stylised flower sprays within
brown borders on a cream slip ground. The
tallest vase 29.5cm (11.5/8in) high. (4).

HENAN BLACK AND RUSSET GLAZED
BOTTLE
Jin/Yuan Dynasty
The incense burner raised on three lion mask
feet and flanked by a pair of large carp-form
handles, decorated in shades of brown with
stylised foliate panels on a cream slip ground;
the bottle covered in a lustrous black glaze
with russet coloured neck rim and borders.
