Edo Period, 17th/18th century The oviform vessel painted in washes of Makuzu Kozan (1869-1912)
Each delicately painted with gambolling underglaze blue with a bird perched on the Of compressed ovoid form, moulded with
deer amongst clusters of maple leaves, the branches of a craggy pine tree, covered carp leaping from turbulent foaming waves
exteriors with a foliate meander and Fuku overall in a bluish, crackled glaze. beneath wispy clouds, the spout and finial in
mark to the bases. 25.5cm (10in) high the form of further leaping carp, the shoulder
21cm (8.1/4in) diam. (2). with a reticulated wave rim, signed on the
