A YELLOW AND RUSSET JADE ‘MYTHICAL
BEAST’ PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
of ß at oval form, one side carved in relief with a prowling
chilong, its legs and furcated tail stretching across the
surface, the opposite side carved with a phoenix twisting its
body in ß ight, pierced at one end, the stone pale yellowish-
white with a caramel-colored skin particularly to the chilong
side

QING DYNASTY, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY
the irregular boulder shape carved as a large peach borne
on a leaÞ ng stem ß anked by a further, smaller peach and
a ‘Buddha hand’ citron, the central fruit with a bat in relief
to one side and a wan symbol on the reverse, the stone
of an opaque beige tone with dark brown and russet-pink
highlights
