BRUSH POT, BITONG
17TH-18TH CENTURY
Of foliate form, the brush pot has a slightly
tapering body with a plain border at the rim, and
the base is carved in the form of a stylized lotus
raised on three short feet.

Of solid, attractively-grained huanghuali, the
rectangular box has huangtong ruyi-form edgings,
bail handles, a round lock plate and cloud-form hasp.
