          A VERY RARE IMPERIAL MIDNIGHT-BLUE
          BROCADE ‘DRAGON’ ROBE
          KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
          The midnight-blue ground is worked in gold-wrapped
          threads with nine dragons, some clutching and others
          chasing faming pearls amidst ruyi-form clouds and
          fames, all above the terrestrial diagram and lishui stripe
          woven with supplemental silk foss, gold-wrapped threads,
          and gilt paper, and embellished with precious objects.
