清道光 珊瑚紅地綠彩壽字盤 礬紅「薢竹主人造」篆書款 Collection of Ambassador Ti-Tsun Li (1901-1981), and thence by descent to the
present owner.
The design of a single, bold dragon exhibited on the present pair of dishes is
quite unusual. It is more common to fnd large iron-red-decorated ‘dragon’
dishes from the Guangxu period decorated with a pair of confronted dragons,
such as the example illustrated in Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing, The
Chinese University of Hong Kong, p. 116, no. 115.
