depicting men engaged with younger women at intimate everyday
80 activities such as pedicures, ear or teeth-cleaning or wine-drinking.
To the Chinese these pursuits clearly alluded to sexual escapades
to come. A grouping of these ‘erotic’ figures was last seen in the
famous Dr. Anton Dreesman Collection dispersed at Christie’s in
five 2002 auctions held in London and Amsterdam.
