the larger 7.8cm, 3 in.
The inscription on the silhouette agate bottle, carved with
a design of magpies and prunus, reads xiang kai bi guan,
si dong meishao, which can be translated as ‘be radiant
with joy as the fragrance triggers the sense of smell’.The
inscription on the second bottle is adapted from a poem by
Song Dynasty poet Lu You (1125-1210).
