lightly moulded to suggest shaped petals of a flower, and
rising to a lobed rim, decorated with densely scrolling
tendrils encircling a central shou medallion, the reverse with
a decorative band, the base inscribed with a six-character
reign mark within double circles

A RARE GUAN-TYPE MALLOW-SHAPED
WASHER
QING DYNASTY, YONGZHENG PERIOD
moulded to the almost flat top with six swaying mallow
petals, covered overall save for the footring with a pale blue
glaze suffused with a network of grey crackles, the footring
applied with a brown wash in imitation of the Song dynasty
wares

Collection of Zhu Shennong (1894-1962) and thence by
descent in the family, by repute.
