           A GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ CEREMONIAL NECKLACE         This finely hammered collar depicts a four-armed deity, likely Manjushri
           NEPAL, CIRCA 17TH CENTURY                          Jnanasattva (see HAR 79070), amid well-articulated floral sprays.
           Himalayan Art Resources item no.16812              Nepalese ceremonial necklaces like the present lot could either be
           10 5/8 in. (27 cm) wide                            worn by a metal image of a deity or by a participant. A silver collar,
                                                              dated 1676, in the Dallas Museum of Art (1987.470) shares a similar
           $10,000 - 15,000                                   design of a series of foliate medallions flanking a central deity. The
                                                              treatment of the flame borders is also a good point of comparison.
