            SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
            Tapered at both ends, the cylindrical shaft of the fly whisk is carved
            through more than ten layers of red and black lacquers with overlapping
            rows of cash motifs, affixed on one end with an ornate weave of hemp.
