                                                                         The C-form backsplat, fitted with a mat panel, supports
                                                                         the carved crestrail above the mat seat set in a seat frame
                                                                         with setback front seat rail, and plain, beaded apron and
                                                                         spandrels. The whole is raised on round-section legs joined
                                                                         by stepped stretchers at the side and a footrest at the front.

                                                                         18TH-19TH CENTURY
                                                                         The paneled top is set in a square frame above the narrow
                                                                         waist and shaped, beaded aprons carved with confronting
                                                                         chilong. The whole is raised on beaded, square-section legs
                                                                         terminating in hoof-form feet.

                                                                         beaded apron and spandrels. The whole is raised on round-
                                                                         section legs joined by stepped stretchers on the sides and a
                                                                         footrest at the front.
