Dragpa’i Pel (b.1260) was a student of the Second Karmapa, Karma
Pakshi, who subsequently established his own incarnation lineage,
the Gangkar Lamas. He founded a hermitage in ca.1265, which
developed into Gangkar Monastery, situated on the northern border
of modern day Bhutan. The lineage has a second monastic seat at
Khamsum Drag Gon.
