           of cylindrical form, skilfully carved through the red overlay
           to the turquoise ground with a continuous scene depicting a
           butterfly fluttering amidst luxuriant floral buds and blooms,
           some rendered borne on long leafy stems issuing from the
           rocky ground, others on gnarled branches, the lush design
           further accentuated with an excerpt from Li Qiao’s poem, Gui
           (‘Osmanthus’), highlighting the autumnal blossoms, flanked
           by three seals reading gaozhi (‘eminence’), qiu (‘autumn’) and
           bing (‘ice’), all below a thin band bordering the rim, the base
           wheel cut with a four-character reign mark within a double
           square
