A RARE LARGE BRONZE FIGURE OF A TIGER,
EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, WARRING STATES
PERIOD
Length 12½ in., 31.7 cm
This large finely cast bronze tiger was originally the handle
of what would have been a chunyu bell of exceptional size.
Another smaller chunyu bell handle, on loan to the Royal
Ontario Museum, Canada, between 1983 and 1998, was sold
in our London rooms, 16th May 2012, lot 252.
