The cylindrical body vibrantly painted with two lobed
square cartouches, two fan-shaped cartouches
and two four-lobed cartouches, variously containing
precious objects, mountain scenes and floral sprays,
all surrounded by a densely foliate lotus scroll, the
neck with decorative fretwork and ruyi-head bands
beneath the lipped rim.

A blue and white ‘dragon’ jar
Kangxi
Of baluster form, painted vividly around the exterior
with four scattered roundels, each enclosing a
writhing four-clawed dragon in pursuit of a flaming
pearl, alternating with stylised clouds above
foaming waves interspersed with jagged rocks, all
between a diaper border and a classic scroll band.
