The low tray enamelled to imitate a wooden
bucket, with rectangular cartouches
enclosing scholarly landscapes, with cursive
inscriptions and red seals, the base marked
pingshan caotang.

‘IMMORTALS’ DISH
Signed, Mid-20th century and Qianlong four-
character mark, mid-20th century
The first dish finely enamelled with a seated
nude lady in an interior scene, with a tiger
plaque by Bi Yuanming in the background,
surrounded with an elaborate iron-red and
gilt border with foliate lappets and archaistic
motifs; the second dish with the Eight
Immortals and other celestial deities visiting
the Three Star Gods, carved wood stand.
The largest: 34cm (13 3/8in) diam. (3).

Each enamelled in the manner of Wang
Xiaotang with a lively scene of figures in a
landscaped garden, the necks pierced and
decorated in grisaille, flanked with paired
mask-and-loop handles, the covers with
reticulated finials and decorated en-suite.
