A BRONZE GARLIC-HEAD VASE
Han dynasty
Of compressed globular form, rising to a tall slender neck, expanding
towards the mouth to form a six-lobed garlic-head, all supported on
an splayed foot ring, the surface a mottled gold, reddish-brown and
green patina.

Three fragments, pigments on plaster, now framed and glazed, the
largest with celestial musicians in flowing robes, their headdresses
and garment details executed in gesso relief; the second of a female
deity under a wutong tree; the third of heavenly attendants standing
against a cloudy background.
