                                                                   A CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF GUANYIN
                                                                   MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
                                                                   The bodhisattva is carved with a high chignon behind a tiara
                                                                   with a centred Amitabha, standing on a circular base with
                                                                   her left arm raised and her right hand by her side. Her body is
                                                                   covered in a shawl tied at her chest, a dhoti at her waist and
                                                                   long fowing scarves around her elbows.
