Carved in relief over the surface with a chi
dragon coiled around the central hole, a
spray of lingzhi held in the mouth extending
over to the reverse, a smaller dragon
crouching over the edge.

A PALE CELADON JADE ‘CHILONG’
POURING VESSEL, YI
Ming Dynasty
The rounded body of oval section on a
matching foot and rising to an everted rim,
the rim extending at one end for pouring, the
opposite end with a loop handle terminating
in a beast head biting the rim, the exterior
carved with intricate designs of three chilong
amidst swirling clouds.
