the pebble modelled in the form of a recumbent phoenix, its
crowned head turned sharply backwards and its legs tucked
underneath the body, grasping a leafy spray of peony in its
beak, the body finely detailed with neatly combed plumage,
the stone of a pale celadon tone suffused with caramel-russet
inclusions
