                                A SMALL BRONZE FIGURE OF SAMANTABHADRA

                                SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
                                The small figure is cast seated on a lotus base in rajalilasana, the posture of royal ease, with
                                the left hand held in avakashamudra. The body is covered in long robes with the edges of
                                the sleeves flaring outward.

                                A closely related figure of similar size and also from the Song dynasty was in the collection
                                of Sato Gengen (1888-1963), sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, Chinese Art through the Eye of
