A SET OF THREE POLYCHROME, GILT-DECORATED PROVENANCE:
AND CARVED HONGMU ARMCHAIRS An Asian-American family collection, acquired in the early
19TH CENTURY 20th century, by repute.
Each chair is elaborately carved on one side of the back and
sides with a dragon amidst clouds, and painted in red, green 清十̏ˠ紀ǎ紅木彩❡描金雲龍紋扶手椅ˏ組˕件
and white pigments and further decorated in gilt, above the
mat seat and pierced apron carved with a dragon medallion. Ϝ源

Each panel is finely embroidered in multi-colored silk threads with
a central large golden pheasant perched on a branch surrounded
by other birds and butterflies amidst peonies, all above a scene of
a pair of Mandarin ducks in a lotus pond.
