A STONE HEAD OF A BODHISATTVA
LIAO DYNASTY (AD 907-1125)
The face is carved with a small mouth and half-
lidded eyes below elegant brows, finely coiffed
hair, and a prominent urna. The elaborate crown
is decorated in the center with Amitabha Buddha
seated on a lotus throne, surrounded by scrolls of
floral medallions.
