It is rare to find coral-red enameling on meiping vases, and the present
lot appears to be the only one of this type and size to have been offered at
auction. Compare a similar yet smaller example with a more exaggerated
tapering body, sold at Junkunc: Chinese Art, Sotheby’s New York,
28 September 2021, lot 581.
