Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Constructed in four separate sections, the bird of prey
perched with its head lowered, its wings (detachable)
outspread, alert and poised, ready to pouch on
unsuspecting prey, on a tasselled bronze stand decorated
with gilt mounts on the feet; unsigned. Total height: 69cm
(27 1/16in) high; the wingspan: 65cm (25 5/8in) across. (8).
