A FINELY-CARVED HARDWOOD STAND AN IVORY FIGURE OF A COURT LADY
17th/18th century 18th century
With panelled rectangular top, pierced and carved to each end with Finely modelled wearing long flowing robes covering her tiny lotus feet
central quatrelobed panels enclosing a pair of serpentine chilong carved underneath, the robes tied at the waist suspending a tassel
amongst scrolling entwined foliage, on grounds of relief-carved foliate fitted with a chilong toggle, her right hand holding a lobed tray, the
scrollwork within beaded edges, the sides with reticulated upper face with serene expression, the hair finely arranged in a high chignon
panels of confronted luduan amongst billowing cloud scrolls, the lower secured with a tiara and florettes, traces of green, red, blue and black
friezes enclosing reticulated foliate and chilong motif aprons within pigment, wood stand and fitted box.
