This remarkable semi-translucent stone is believed to have been
held in a former Tibetan monastic medical college called Chagpori,
situated on a mountain of the same name, regarded as one of
four holy mountains in Central Tibet. It is thought to have been
retained there because of the stone’s remarkable quality when lit to
resemble a brain’s neural network and glow as if with the enlightened
consciousness of Buddhahood.
