LATE 19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀末 石青地繡龍紋吉服袍
The robe is decorated in couched threads with
a front-facing fve-clawed dragon above two
striding dragons amongst scattered peonies and
auspicious emblems above foaming lishui waves.

清十九世紀末 金地龍趕珠紋屏
The panel is decorated with two pairs of
confronting dragons chasing the faming pearl
on a ground of wan symbols. All above peonies
and auspicious symbols scattered within foaming
waves.
The panels, 53æ in. long x 37º in. wide (136.5 cm.
x 69.3 cm.), textile borders

The group comprises: a Fourth Military ‘Tiger’ rank
badge stitched in Peking knot and on a couched
ground; a gilt couched Fifth Civil ‘Silver Pheasant’
rank badge; a kesi dragon roundel on a gilt ground;
an embroidered and couched dragon roundel; an
orange-ground dragon panel; a pingsheng sanji
roundel depicting an elephant.
The largest, the embroidery 16¬ in. high x 24¿ in.
wide (42.2 cm. x 61.3 cm.), textile frame (6)
