A TINNED-BRONZE BELT PLAQUE AN UNUSUAL SILVER OCTAGONAL FERRULE
WESTERN CHINA, 5TH CENTURY BC WARRING STATES PERIOD-WESTERN HAN DYNASTY

The broad, S-shaped plaque with ribbed body and curved ends is fnely
engraved with striated bands. The heavily cast, hollow ftting has faceted sides, and a slightly tapering,
bulbous mid-section, and is pierced with two holes for attachment. The
4Ω in. (11.5 cm.) wide
interior is circular.
