A SMALL TIANHUANG SEAL FOR GAO SHIQI AN INSCRIBED TIANHUANG SEAL CARVED BY

The rectangular seal is carved in shallow relief on the with two QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
angular dragons, one smaller, in pursuit of a pearl, above a band of The rectangular seal is incised with a four-character inscription in
key-frets on the sides interrupted by the signature Shangjun. The running script on one of the vertical sides indicating that this was

Expedition. Gao Shiqi was an early-Qing scholar-official PROVENANCE
known for his artistic talents, and was much liked by the Sonota Kojyou (1886-1968), Shiga Prefecture, Japan
Emperor Kangxi.
