A CARVED CHICKEN-BONE JADE ‘LINGZHI’ WASHER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The washer is well hollowed and carved as a large head of a lingzhi fungus with undulating
sides surrounded by another five smaller lingzhi heads rising from the gnarled main stem
which forms the openwork base. The stone is a mottled pale buff colour flecked with
darker brown streaks.
