A CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER 'LYCHEES' INCENSE BOX AND
COVER
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
The small, round, box is intricately carved to the cover and base with a leafy branch which
spreads across the surface bearing nine lychees of varying sizes, each decorated with a
geometric pattern. The interior is lacquered black.
