A VERY RARE RHINOCEROS HORN ARCHAISTIC
‘ZOOMORPHIC’ POURING VESSEL
17th/18th century
Superbly carved in the form of a winged mythical beast raised on four
spreading clawed feet, the horned head pierced to form a spout, the
mane formed from relief-carved ruyi-shaped scrolls, the bifurcated tail
forming the handle, the horn of a rich chocolate-brown tone.
