The firework displays at the Ryogoku Bridge were among the most popular Raymond A. Bidwell (1876-1954), Springfield,
summer pleasures of Edo residents since 1733, when the first official fireworks were Massachusetts
commissioned by the eighth Tokugawa Shogun, Yoshimune, to commemorate
Jumantsubo, the Japanese equivalent of 33 hectares, was the name
