                     painted in varying tones of cobalt-blue depicting the famous

                      rst meeting between King Wen of Zhou, standing at a river’s
                     edge with attendants and the self-exiled military strategist
                     Jiang Ziya living as a humble sherman, all amidst craggy
                     rockwork and foliage, set between a lappet band and a oral
                     scroll, the neck with owering lotus plants, the base unglazed
                     Height 17⅛ in., 43.5 cm

                     smaller shaped reserves of ‘antiques’ and butter ies, all
                     reserved on an iron-red scrolling foliate and chrysanthemum
                     bloom ground, the neck with stylized shou characters, with
                     later inscription, possibly a collector’s name, incised into the
                     glaze reading Wudan dougongshi
