          A SMALL BRONZE RITUAL TRIPOD FOOD VESSEL, DING
          LATE SHANG DYNASTY, 13TH-11TH CENTURY BC
          The deep body is raised on three columnar legs and is decorated with a band of
          taotie masks below the everted rim set with a pair of bail handles. The patina is
          of mottled olive-green color with areas of malachite and cuprite encrustation.
          5æ in. (13.7 cm.) high, Japanese mixed-metal cover, Japanese wood box with
          inscriptions by Hata Zoroku IV (1898-1984)
