A GRISAILLE PORCELAIN PLAQUE IN
THE MANNER OF WANG YETING
First half of the 20th century
Depicting a scene of scholars standing by the
shore, bidding farewell to friends crossing a
snowy river on a sampan, inscribed with the
title to the top right corner, the bottom left
with two red seals reading Yeting, rosewood
frame and stand. The plaque: 38.5cm (15
1/8in) x 25.5cm (10in) (2).

Provenance
A distinguished French private collection,
and thence by descent; reputedly acquired in
China in the 1950s.
