Provenance:
Acquired directly from the artist in Bali in 1948 by an American
collector, Mr Robert E. Hoey (1912-1960) after World War II and
thence by descent. Mr Hoey served as the United States Department
of State Officer, in charge of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Affairs. He was
Special Assistant to the Secretary of State from December 1955 to
July 1956
