AN UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND IRON-RED-DECORATED
'DRAGON' DISH
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE
AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The dish is decorated to the interior with a central medallion depicting an
iron-red fve-clawed dragon above crashing waves. The exterior is similarly
decorated with nine further dragons below a band of stylised blossoms
encircling the mouth rim.
