            A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE 'PHOENIX AND
            BAMBOO' CONICAL BOWLS
            CHINA, QING DYNASTY, KANGXI-YONGZHENG PERIOD, EARLY
            18TH CENTURY
            Each finely decorated in penciled style with a phoenix in
            flight opposite two bamboo stalks, the decoration continuing
            from the exterior to the interior, each base with an apocryphal
            Chenghua mark
            3√ in. (9.9 cm.) diam.                     (2)

            C. T. Loo Chinese Art (successor Frank Caro), New York, 16
            March 1957.

            A similarly decorated set of four 'phoenix and bamboo' bowls                 (another view of one)
            of comparable size was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 5 April
            2016, lot 123.
