A COPPER ALLOY FIGURE OF GANESHA This delightful bronze depicts Ganesha holding a grape-like cluster in
NEPAL, 19TH CENTURY his left hand to represent his beloved sweet. His other hands hold the
Himalayan Art Resources item no. 4718 prescribed attributes of a cintimani, lotus, axe, and malla. Ganesha sits
28 cm (11 in.) high in a relaxed posture and his rat-vehicle climbs the lotus platform with
the expectant expression to join in on the bounty.

尼泊爾 十九世紀 象神銅像 Schroeder, Nepalese Stone Sculptures, Vol. I, Weesen, 2019, p. 317,
no. 101E, which has a similar crown with thin, tall leaves. The crown
type is also shared by a copper alloy Dancing Ganesha, dated 1848
CE, sold at Bonhams, New York, 16 March 2021, lot 301.
