The maker, signing with the single character clustered together and overlapping to form a Of lobed form, inlaid around the sides with a

This appears to be the only recorded netsuke
carved from amber made by Komin. The work is attributed to Shibayama Soichi,
who made netsuke and inro in the late
19th century, the second kanji obliterated.
